Award Nominations
The Kentucky Library Association accepts nominations for the following awards:
- The William H. Natcher Award is given annually to an individual, organization, or corporation that has made a significant philanthropic contribution to a Kentucky library.
- The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a Kentucky librarian who has contributed significantly to our profession through publications, presentations, and participation in professional library and/or information organizations.
- The Carol J. Parris Mentoring Award is presented to a Kentucky librarian who has exemplified the ability to assist and advise new members to the profession.
- The James A. Nelson Advocacy Award is presented to those who have gone above and beyond to promote and protect libraries in government relations.
- The Kentucky Intellectual Freedom Award is presented to an individual or institution that has worked to insure that every Kentuckian has the right to all types of materials.
- The Kentucky Library Association Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes excellence in information literacy and instruction. Submissions from all types of libraries are encouraged.
Each award (a plaque from the Association) will be presented during the annual KLA Conference Awards event. A list of previous recipients is available on our Awards page.
